Multimedia Design

Informatics has developed several multimedia packages including "The Skills of the Goldsmith" which was installed on a touchscreen based panel PC and allowed users to view any of  4 video clips (approx 4min. each) describing different components of the work of a goldsmith. Each video/animation sequence was accompanied by a narrative and a synchronised text.

The touch screen / panel PC was wall mounted in a retail outlet - "The Steensons" Bedford Street Belfast and a conventional PC based version was installed in their Glenarm showroom.

A CD-ROM based multimedia package was developed for CRIS - a health promotion agency attached to South and West Belfast Community Trust. This interactive CD described the work carried out by the unit and the type of services available to both health care professionals and the general public. An important component of the package was the inclusion of the resource database describing the videos, books etc. that could be taken out on loan from CRIS. This database could be searched by media and topic area.

The system was developed using Macromedia Director 7 and Fireworks
